I loved Nancy and Grady’s day so much, they’re the dang cutest and it was beyond perfect- minus the killer mosquitos dive bombing us any time we set foot outside. These two had a laid back but elegant wedding at Melrose Knitting Mill in Raleigh, a gorgeous venue with summery palm trees, industrial charm, and tons of dreamy window light. Nancy is a talented graphic designer who designed all of their paper goods, from the invites to the seating chart and table signs, which feature her illustrations and stories of some of their favorite cities around the world.

As soon as I walked into their reception space and spied their cakes, I thought “they have to be from Hayes Barton.” And guess what. They were from Hayes Barton, who in my opinion make some of the best cakes in the state. Their day was full of emotion, joy, heartfelt speeches, delicious food, gorgeous florals, and beautiful design. Perfection.

Oh and I’m legally required to inform you that Nancy’s BHLDN dress HAD POCKETS.

Things I love so much about Becca and John’s wedding:
- The rain didn’t get them down one bit. They provided umbrellas for their guests, and exchanged vows as the raindrops danced in the pond behind them.
- They chose to host their wedding on Becca’s grandmother’s property. It was so special watching this gorgeous life event take place somewhere so full of memories and love and tradition.
- The insanely beautiful design by both the bride and the Lion House co- From the moody florals to the romantic candlelit dinner… talk about swoon!
- The family style and delicious food from Spread NC plus the sweets from Vanilla Bean Bake Shoppe put an already beautiful day over the top. I mean look at that cake! It’s one of the most beautiful creations I’ve ever seen. And the homemade oatmeal cream pies! Ahhh!
- Seeing these two enjoy being surrounded by their favorite people in one of their favorite places (and that sunset!), and partying the night away thanks to Nick Neptune.
