I had the pleasure and honor of photographing in Joshua Tree for the second time last year, this time for Erin and Aj’s anniversary. I will always be head over heels for the California desert. There’s something incredibly magical and free and beautiful about it. We woke up before the sun and headed into the park to scope out our spot. There’s not a place inside that park that isn’t gorgeous. It was super chilly so after we found our spot we stayed in the car to keep warm until I decided we were close enough to the sun coming up. We photographed and frolicked and danced and had an absolute blast, the sun coming up turning everything from muted pinks and blues to gold, and warming us up as we went. <3

Goodness gracious where do I even begin? How adorable these two are? How much I wanted to steal their pup Huck? How dreamy the Oregon Coast is? How perfect it is that the week long rain stopped just for us, then started right back up when we were done shooting?
I know Cannon Beach is a very popular spot, and the Haystack rock is iconic and draws tons of visitors all day every day, but I didn't expect to still be so moved by it the first time it loomed up over the horizon while we drove into down. No matter how many photos I've seen, nothing does that place any justice.
