Natalja's brother said it best during his toast- David and Natalja are the type of people who can walk into a room full of strangers, and then leave as friends with all of them. They are kind and wonderful and there's a reason so many people came literally across oceans to celebrate their marriage.
Their wedding was on the same day that Hurricane Matthew was wreaking havoc in South Carolina and eastern North Carolina, so our beautiful cloudy day decided to turn a little rainy shortly before their ceremony. Natalja had to make the call to move the ceremony from the observation deck to under the reception tent (which still had a beautiful view over the little valley). I told her the videographer and I have umbrellas, and we're totally still able to make some mountain magic if they're willing. She said "Absolutely, I trust you completely." Be still my heart.
At no point did they let the rain get them down, at all. They were there to get married and celebrate with their friends and family and a little mud at the bottom of her skirt wasn't going to stop any of that. It's still one of my favorite weddings to date, and I feel so lucky to have captured this day for them. <3 Oh, and they had brunch food as their dinner. Praise be to brunch food.
